I would like to give props to my college hockey who is running a breast cancer awareness event called Pink the Rink '08. This started last year where the team asked the fans to "pink out" the rink and bracelets and pins were handed out to raise money for the Breast Cancer Foundation. This year was taken to a whole new level. The hockey players this year will wear pink jerseys and auction them off during and after the game. Each of these auctions will be run silently through e-mail. This event was the brainchild of assistant head coach and sports management professor Gregory Heffernan. If you would like one of these jerseys you can contact him at gregory.heffernan@fredonia.edu. Also, the game is at 7pm on the campus in Fredonia. Come down and join us for a good cause and a better game.
