Hecht has Finger Surgery, Out 2-4 Weeks

Hecht had finger surgery yesterday which will put him on the shelf for 2-4 weeks. This injury occurred during the second period of the Islanders game. This puts the Sabres in a sticky situation with Connolly and Gaustad also out. The Sabres are now very thin at the center position with MacArthur moving up to the second line and Matt Ellis being put in at the fourth line. Depth in Portland includes Mancari and Gerbe.
