Wild Down Sabres Again

The Minnesota Wild have been on a roll this preseason going 3-1 in five games while the Sabres have basically laid an egg going 1-2-1. This trend continued last night with the Wild taking care of business at home, winning 3-2.

The Sabres goals were scored by Paille and Sekera, with Sekera's being a garbage powerplay goal. Miettinen, Nolan, and Burns scored for the Wild, with Burns' goal being shorthanded. Both teams had a tendency of traveling to the penalty box each taking 8 penalties on the night. Miller faced 24 shots on the night while on the other end Harding faced 26 and then left the game with an injury due to an errant stick in the eyehole of his mask. Backstrom came in and cleaned up stopping 5 of 6.

In terms of the roster that played, Hunter, Mancari, and Darche got some playing time in the game. Hunter led those three players in ice time with 11 minutes. The rest of the lineup were your standard team. The next game for the Sabres is tonight against the Columbus Blue Jackets in Columbus.
